What arrives

Two versions, cut to the length you actually use

Drawn to scale. Assemblies and announcements run to a minute; a game entrance or a cheer break runs to thirty seconds. You get both, from the same session.

Full version

0:60
lead vocals · full arrangement
0:000:150:300:450:60

The one people learn. Assemblies, graduations, the website, the PA before kickoff.

Short version

0:30
drumline / cheer arrangement
0:000:150:30

Percussion-forward and built to be shouted over. Entrances, time-outs, social clips.

Delivered as WAV (44.1 kHz, 16-bit or better) and MP3 320 — the WAV for your PA and your video editor, the MP3 for everything else.

How it runs

Three weeks, start to finish

  1. Day 0

    You send lyrics and pay

Work starts when both are in. If you are paying by purchase order, work starts when the PO number arrives — not when one is promised.

  2. +10 days

    First draft, both versions

Ten business days. You hear the full version and the short cut together, because changing one changes the other.

  3. +5 days

    Revision round one

Send one consolidated set of notes covering both versions. Arrangement, mix, tempo, key, vocal delivery, edits to fit the length.

  4. +5 days

Revision round two, then final files

Masters delivered in both formats. Yours from the moment payment clears.

Notes sent piecemeal over several days count as separate rounds — gather your committee’s feedback before you send it, and two rounds go a long way.

Who owns what

Your song is yours. Nobody else gets it.

Stated plainly, because this is the part most people never get in writing.

Your lyrics

Yours throughout. Nothing here changes that — you keep them whether we work together or not.

The finished tracks

Licensed to you exclusively and for good: perform, broadcast, stream, put them in video, edit for length, use them however you like. Exclusive means we will not use them or license them to anyone else.

The instrumental bed

Stays with the producer, and never goes to another school or to a competitor of yours, and never with your words. No one turns up with your song.

If you must own it outright

Some districts can only buy what they own. There is a buy-out for that — quoted as an add-on, so ownership is not something you pay for twice.

Credit reads “Produced by John Edwards” wherever a production credit is normally given. AI-assisted tools are used in composition and production, and the agreement says so.

Paying

The fast routes first

At this price the purchase usually sits under a district’s competitive-bid threshold, which opens up every option below except the last one.

Same dayCard, including a school or district purchasing card
Same dayCheck from a booster club, PTO or school activity fund
Net 30District purchase order — by prior arrangement. Work begins when the PO number arrives.

W-9 and vendor registration handled at intake rather than at invoice time, because that paperwork routinely takes longer than the song.
